This explains what we collect when you join the Fern waitlist or apply for the beta, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Fern is run by The Fern Trimester Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number [number].

What we collect
Your email address, when you join the waitlist
Whether you ticked the box to be a beta tester
If you apply for the beta: your name, phone type, due date or baby’s age, and what interests you about Fern
Basic technical data, such as your IP address, collected by our website host for security
Why we use it
To send you updates about Fern and our launch (your consent)
To choose beta testers and contact them (your explicit consent, because due date or baby’s age can reveal health information)
To keep the website running and secure (our legitimate interest)
We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to run Fern. They only process your data on our instructions:
Framer
Website and signup form
Cloudflare
Passing signup details to our email system
Kit
Storing your email and sending our emails
International transfers
Some providers store data outside the UK, including in the US. Where they do, they use approved safeguards, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the ICO’s International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe. Beta application details are deleted [6 months] after the beta ends, unless you become a tester and agree otherwise.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by emailing us. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect anything we did before.
Cookies
We don’t use cookies that need your consent. Our website analytics don’t use cookies and don’t identify you.
